“Train not for honors and medals, train for pleasure and health”…These are the words of Olga Lefterova, a beautiful Ukrainian girl who combines the discipline of Pole Dance with her profession and her family. An artist with style … Ukranian style. We invite you to meet her, OLGA LEFTEROVA for POLEGOOD Magazine.
Olga, what motivated you to approach the Pole Dance?
I was motivated by the fact, that for a long time I was training fitness but internally feel that something’s wrong, than I’ve tried dancing. And again it wasn’t completely mine, unfortunately dancing didn’t give me enough physical activity. For me pole dance became an ideal symbiosis of creativity and development in dance, and complex physical activities.
How is your life outside of sport?
I’ve graduated as a graphic designer, I work as a freelancer, and with pleasure combine these two professions. And the most important thing in my life is that I am a mother of a three-year-old child and a happy wife.
Within your career as an athlete of the Pole, what moments would you highlight?
If we talk about social networks, I’m publishing things related with the trainings mostly; I don’t like to share my daily personal life.
According to your experience, what are the benefits that the discipline of Pole Dance brings to the athletes who practice it?
For me, pole dance is a very multifaceted sport. That’s the coolest advantage! Everyone can find something special for themselves. There are dance, plasticity, strength, endurance, flexibility… You can always find directions, wherein you can develop all the time.
How do you see the development of the discipline of Pole, in Ukraine?
Over the past few years Ukrainian pole dance has reached a very high level. I look with admiration how tremendously it’s mowing forward, especially in children’s sports. And I understand that children who are performing at the Championships now, in a few years will move to the category of professionals and soon it will take the form of professional sports at the Olympic level.
With what other disciplines do you complement this activity?
Regularly I have stretching classes, and I want to add choreography lessons in the nearest future.
A message that you want to leave us?
Train not for honors and medals, train for pleasure and health, if you like the process, results will always be!
